How to Brew Great Coffee
Start with cold fresh water. A great cup of coffee starts with good clean water.
We recommend 2 tablespoons of coffee per cup or 1.2 to 1.5 oz. per pot. Adjust
to your own taste.
If you grind your own beans use the correct grind for your brewer.
Too fine a
grind will produce a bitter coffee, too course will produce a weak coffee.
How to Store your Coffee
Place coffee in an airtight container.
Expel as much air as possible.
DO NOT PLACE IN FRIDGE. Coffee is one of the best products for absorbing
odors.
Coffee may be frozen but only remove as much as will be used each
time.
Coffee Tips
Time is the enemy of good coffee. Time since roasting. Time since grinding. Time
since brewing.
Keep your coffee making equipment very clean as the bitter oils stick
to the brewing and holding containers.
To extract the right oils without too
much acidity the best water temperature is 95 to 98 degrees centigrade.
For the best flavor do not percolate coffee. The water should only
pass through the coffee once.
Security from air and moisture are the two most important considerations
when storing your coffee.
